2023 is all about hobbies for me. I got a guitar last year that I’ve been learning to play. I’ve started writing again. And I also started crocheting! I actually taught myself last fall. My Great-Grandma used to crochet all the time, and I’m so blessed to have some pieces that she made. Josh jokes that crocheting came so easy to me because it’s in my genetics haha! I don’t know about that. I’ve been having so much fun making different things, and I thought I’d share some of my January projects with you guys today!
Coffee Cozy // These are my favorite to make! I think they are super easy. The pattern is also easy to follow. I had a little trouble making the heart at first, but once I got the hang of it, it’s gotten much easier. Get the pattern here.
Heart Granny Squares // I’m slowly becoming obsessed with granny squares! I’ve been playing around with a few different heart granny square patterns. I’m struggling with them quite a bit. I think I’ve found another pattern that might be easier. I’m going to try it out this month! There are so many heart granny square patterns out there!
Basic Granny Square // I’m calling it basic, but it’s really not! It’s just more of what I consider to be an original granny square. This is probably my favorite that I’ve made! I actually used this granny square to make a purse last month. The lady that I watched the tutorial for this granny square has the purse tutorial too! Her instructions are super easy to follow.
Strawberry Pencil Pouch // I’m obsessed with this project! I just think the strawberry is so cute! This is a super easy pattern to follow. I followed the YouTube video for the strawberry. This person has some other super cute patterns on their YouTube channel that I can’t wait to make!
Those are my projects from the month of January! I can’t wait to make more projects this month. I’ve actually started on some granny squares for a sweater. I’ve been seeing this sweater pattern all over TikTok, so I’m going to give it a try! I’ve also been working on knitting. For me, it’s not been as easy as crochet. I also struggled to find right-hand tutorials online. But I know with a little more practice I will get better!
Do you crochet or knit? Are you working on any projects? Let me know in the comments!
XO, Chelsea
